Massive protests erupt across the top campuses of India against the JNU attack.
In a shocking turn of events, Jawaharlal Nehru University, one of India’s most prestigious universities was attacked by a group of masked men and women who entered the campus with rods and sticks in their hands. The attackers targeted the students and teachers in the campus who were brutally beaten and injured.
The violence in the campus sparks speculation on the inaction of the police as the perpetrators behind the mask are yet to be identified and arrested. Students across the nation have come on the roads to protest against the JNU attacks. The students of JNU had been protesting over the fee hike since the last month.
Meanwhile Hindu Raksha Dal, a right-wing organisation has taken responsibility for the attack. The violence against the JNU students has outraged other campuses to protest in support of the JNU students.
The government and the opposition parties have condemned the attacks on the students and teachers in the campus. Many hold ABVP, a right-wing student’s union behind the hooliganism in JNU.
