South Korean Ambassador Lauds Growing Bilateral Ties with India

South Korean Ambassador Chang Jae Bok expressed optimism about the future of India-South Korea relations, emphasizing the importance of cultural and people-to-people exchanges during his address at the Hangeul Day celebrations at Apeejay School, Panchsheel, on  8th October 2024 Tuesday. The event, which marks the recognition of the Korean writing script, Hangul, created by King Sejong in 1446, provided a platform for the ambassador to underscore the strengthening ties between the two nations. Ambassador Chang highlighted the potential for enhanced bilateral relations, stating, “Based on the people-to-people exchanges and culture, the relations between our two people, the relations between India and Korea, will increase and will be strengthened further. We hope that high-level exchange of visits will be realized very soon.” Although he refrained from disclosing specific details about upcoming high-level visits, his remarks signal a commitment to deepening diplomatic engagement.

The ambassador praised students’ performances at the Apeejay School, expressing his admiration for their enthusiasm for Korean culture. “I was touched by the school’s warm welcome and amazed by the students’ enthusiasm for Hangeul and Korean culture,” he remarked, indicating a hopeful outlook for cultural collaborations between the two nations. In addition to cultural exchanges, Ambassador Chang addressed the ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, acknowledging India’s significant influence.
