Brazilian President on a four-day visit to India

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Brazilian President Jair Messias Bolsonaro as the 71st Republic Day chief guest who is expected to arrive in New Delhi for a four-day visit on Friday.

India has invited Brazilian President Jair Messias Bolsonaro as the chief guest at its 71st Republic Day Parade. Brazil’s leader Bolsonaro will be on a four-day visit to India from Friday. He is expected to arrive in New Delhi on January 24 and stay till January 27.

This would be President Bolsonaro’s first visit to India since taking charge of the office last year. He will be accompanied by his convoy of ministers, officials and business delegates.

India and Brazil are among the fastest-growing economies of the world with opportunities for growth and emerging markets. Both countries are expecting to strengthen their bilateral ties and sign over 20 deals across various sectors.

New Delhi is expecting the biggest Brazilian business delegation with prospects of production and collaboration in defence and infrastructure sectors. Both the nations play key roles in BRICS, G-20 and IBSA trilateral relations.

India celebrates its Republic Day on January 26 with a grand parade at Rajpath in New Delhi and pays homage to its brave martyrs.

India had invited President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa as the chief guest of the Republic Day last year.
