Ahead of elections in UK, Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited Hindi temple. Along with this, he vowed to partner with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his mission to build a new India.
In this regard he mentioned that “I know Prime Minister Modi is building a new India. And, we in the UK government will support him fully in his endeavour,” Importantly, the ruling Conservative Party is currently leading in opinion polls over the Opposition Labour Party.
Along with this, Prime Minister Johnson also made a pledge to partner with Prime Minister Modi on his mission to build a new India. Prime Minster Johnson was accompanied by his girlfriend Carrie Symonds on their visit to a famous Hindu temple.
31-year-old conservationist, Symonds was dressed in a bright pink silk sari. On Saturday, she made her first official campaign tour with 55-year-old Johnson. They visited to UK’s one of the most famous temples Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden, north-west London.
Their visit came ahead of Thursday’s general elections in UK to woo Indian diaspora votes.
He also addressed Indian diaspora and said “British Indians have played a vital role in helping the Conservatives win elections in the past.” He made this statement while referring to PM Modi as “Narendrabhai” He also mentions that PM Modi “just laughed and said Indians are always on the winning side.”
Besides, he attacked in an indirect manner on Labour Party’s perceived stance over the issue of Kashmir and said “There can be no place for racism or anti-India sentiment of any kind in this country”.
He appreciated the temple and said “This temple is one of the greatest gifts that the Hindu community has given to our country.” He summed up by saying “London and the UK are lucky to have you.”
