The ICC Women’s World T20 has taken an interesting turn with the West Indies women’s cricket team defeating the England women’s cricket team by four wickets on Monday. With this victory, West Indies has managed to reserve its place at the top of group A. England had been in full swing with its previous consecutive victories over Bangladesh and South Africa, both matches won by 7 wickets. The team seems a bit more cautious going into the India vs England semi-final this Friday.
The Indian women’s cricket team has had an incredible run in the group stage so far, maintaining its position as the top team in group B. The Indian team defeated Australia by 48 runs, Ireland by 52 runs and Pakistan by 7 wickets, keeping their eye right on the prize.
Reportedly, English cricketer Anya Shrubsole said her team knows all about the Indian team. Shrubsole talked about the Indian team’s strengths and went on to praise Indian cricketer, Smriti Mandhana on her excellent form this season.
The England women’s cricket team defeated the Indian women’s cricket team in last year’s World Cup final. This year, both teams seem pumped and ready to put their best foot forward in the upcoming semi-final to bag a place in the final.
