Exerting more pressure on Iran, US formed Iran Action Group

Hitting hard on Iran, United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, has announced the creation of Iran Action Group (IAG). This group is meant to review, coordinate and direct Iran-related activity. Brian Hook, who is the current director of Policy Planning in the US State Department, will lead the group.

The other purpose of the US for forming IAG is to pressurize Iran over changing its way from “a torrent of violent and destabilising behavior against the US”, reports ANI.

Pompeo said, “We are committed to a whole-of-government effort to change the Iranian regime’s behavior,” reports ANI.

Mike Pompeo also warned Iran over its nuclear approach. Stressing upon the purpose of Iran Action Group, he said that it would closely synchronise with the International agency partners of the US State Dept. and help Washington to galvanize international support for their efforts against Iran.

It has almost been three months that, the US President Donald Trump pulled out form Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) also popularly known as Iran nuclear deal. According to this deal, Iran was expected to gain sanction relief from the US against limiting its Uranium enrichment in exchange. This accord was signed among six countries Iran, US, Britain, Germany, Russia, France and China in the year 2015.

Donald Trump stated the cause of pulling out from the accord, as the deal being an embarrassment and defective at its core. He also reinstated the sanctions on Iran which were eased by the Obama government.
