Finally President Trump has arrived in Singapore on Sunday to meet North Korean President Kim Jong-un in an on-again-off-again historic summit.

US President arrived on Air Force One with his team of delegation, landed at Paya Lebar Airbase and were greeted by Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan. Trump has freshly landed after G7 Summit, where he refused to sign a joint statement with America’s oldest allies and labelled Canadian President as “dishonest and weak”.

President Kim arrived on a commercial Air China plane after the intense speculation with the public tracking through separate air craft leaving Pyongyang. This is the first time Kim has travelled this farther since 2011, first time attaining presidency.

2500 journalists of all around the world have covered and reported the event. Trump has called it as “Mission of Peace”.

Trump kicked off the meet with the handshake with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and thanked him saying, “It’s a real honor to be with you.” He also told him, “This was the choice that we made very consciously, my friend.”

The pair will discuss “permanent and durable peacekeeping mechanism” on the Korean peninsula, denuclearization of the peninsula and the other issues of mutual concern.

Trump has come down from initially demanding Kim to immediately relinquish North Korea nuclear plans.

Kim added that he supports “complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula”, but he still would put specific demands, and it’s expected that the process could take years.

“I really feel confident. I feel that Kim Jong-un wants to do something great for his people and he has that opportunity and he won’t have that opportunity again,” Trump said at a news briefing before leaving Quebec.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has tweeted and called the meeting “substantive and detailed”.
