The Indian Foreign Affairs makes a bold and sneaky move by appointing a defence attaché to Madagascar.

According to the latest reports from the MEA, India has commissioned a defence attaché to the island of Madagascar. It is a significant move on behalf of India who wants to spread its reach further towards the West African waters.

India is looking forward to maintain strong military ties with the island countries of the western Indian Ocean. In order to strengthen its bilateral relation with Madagascar and Comoros, India has extended its hand to provide defence cooperation.

India has carefully strategized this move to challenge its neighbour China in the economic market. India’s move might be an ambitious plan of action to dominate the western Indian Ocean, to open a new silk route and create space for military base in the future. With Indian President Ram Nath Kovind’s visit to Madagascar last year, new doors of opportunities have opened for development.

India, Madagascar and Comoros have signed deals for infrastructure development and providing disaster relief assistance.
