Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s visit to Kuwait

The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi visited Kuwait from 14-15th April, 2025. The meeting has resulted in a joint commitment by both nations to enhance their economic, trade, and investment relations. The Kuwaiti side expressed its intention to invest in various sectors of the Egyptian economy, including energy, agriculture, industry, information technology, real estate development, banking, and pharmaceuticals. This visit underscores the deepening bilateral ties between the two countries and their shared vision for regional prosperity.​

Based on solid, historical relations between the State of Kuwait and the Arab Republic of Egypt and their brotherly peoples, and in order to strengthen the strategic partnership between them, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi paid a visit to the State of Kuwait during the period from April 14 to 15, 2025 at a kind invitation from his brother, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah,” said the statement.

The visit underscored discussions on the deep-rooted and growing relationship between Egypt and Kuwait, highlighting a shared commitment to regional security, stability, and economic cooperation.

Both sides emphasised their unity and full solidarity on critical issues, reaffirming their joint resolve to safeguard national interests and contribute to Arab national security. The talks covered a wide range of sectors including economy, trade, investment, energy, infrastructure, healthcare, education, culture, and tourism. They commended the ongoing progress in these fields and vowed to further strengthen cooperation moving forward.

The Egyptian side praised Kuwait’s development strides under its Vision 2035, while Kuwait lauded Egypt’s reform efforts aligned with Vision 2030, particularly its steps to improve the investment climate and remove barriers facing Kuwaiti investors. Both countries agreed to intensify investment efforts and assigned officials to implement necessary actions.

The leaders reviewed the outcomes of the Kuwaiti-Egyptian Joint Committee’s last meeting in September 2024 and discussed preparations for the upcoming 14th session. Kuwait also confirmed its participation in the upcoming Gulf-Egypt Investment Forum set to be hosted in Cairo.

In terms of diplomacy, both countries reaffirmed their mutual support in international forums, citing Kuwait’s endorsement of Dr. Khaled el Anani for UNESCO Director-General position in 2025-2029. They highlighted close coordination on regional and global issues, stressing the importance of diplomacy, dialogue, and respect for sovereignty.

The meeting also focused on regional developments. President Sisi praised Kuwait’s leadership in the Gulf Cooperation Council. Kuwait also reaffirmed its support for Egypt’s water rights and emphasised that Egyptian water security is integral to Arab water security.

The visit concluded on a high note, reaffirming the strong and strategic bond between Egypt and Kuwait. Both leaders expressed deep appreciation for the historical ties that unite their countries, pledging to continue building on shared values, mutual respect, and common goals. The renewed commitments made during the visit reflect not only a desire to deepen bilateral cooperation, but also a broader vision of regional unity and Arab solidarity in the face of growing geopolitical challenges.
