EAM Dr. S Jaishankar unveiled Logo and Official Website for upcoming India–Africa Forum Summit

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar unveiled the logo, theme, and official website for the 4th India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-IV). The Summit highlights the growing significance of India-Africa relations in the context of global development.  Dr. Jaishankar emphasised that the India–Africa partnership is based on principles of equality, mutual respect, and shared progress. African nations occupy a central place in India’s foreign policy. The unveiling of the logo marks the key milestone ahead of the summit, which is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from 28th to 31st May 2026.

The launch event was attended by African ambassadors and stakeholders associated with the India-Africa partnership. This demonstrates a growing depth of ties between the two sides. Dr. Jaishankar highlighted the collaboration on sustainable global initiatives such as the International Solar Alliance, Global Biofuels Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, and International Big Cat Alliance. Also, he reiterated India’s support for Africa’s representation in global governance. It was a significant milestone when India supported the African Union’s inclusion in the G-20 during its 2023 presidency. This reflects that cooperation between India and Africa is driven by mutual aspiration.

The Summit will be held under the theme “IA SPIRIT: India-Africa Strategic Partnership for Innovation, Resilience and Inclusive Transformation”. There will be a series of preparatory meetings, such as the India-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on 29th May and the Senior Officials Meeting on 28th May 2026. These meetings will focus on bilateral cooperation between India and Africa. The summit is a prime platform for fostering partnerships with African countries and the African Union Commission. The third edition of the Summit was held in 2015 in New Delhi, featuring fifty-four countries and the AU Commission. The Summit was preceded by a meeting of foreign ministers and senior officials. The Summit’s outcome was the major expansion of development assistance and capacity-building programs in African nations.

This summit will shape the next phase of the India-Africa partnership, which will be more inclusive and futuristic. The summit will provide a platform for exchanging best practices, sharing successful development experiences, and discussing socio-economic development. Also, India is deepening its engagement with African nations by diplomatic presence across the continent, demonstrating a long-term commitment to the region. The cooperation is aimed at expanding into emerging sectors such as digital technology and fintech. The MEA has highlighted that the upcoming Summit will be a landmark engagement that will strengthen the relationship between India and Africa and demonstrate strong South –South cooperation. This will ensure good governance and inclusive development.
