The Turkmen-lndian Training and Production Center is the Symbol of Enduring Friendship and Brotherhood

The historical roots of Turkmen-Indian relations go back to ancient times. The peoples of two countries are united by the closeness of fundamental spiritual values and cultural relations that come from the ancestors. The name of such famous state figures as Bayram Khan and Abdyrahym Khan, the heritage of the great Indian culture in Turkmenistan – all of these are written with golden letters in the records of bilateral relations. Today, this wonderful heritage is being enriched with new meanmg.

The monument to the memory of one of the outstanding personalities of India, Mahatma Gandhi, erected in the “Bagtyyarlyk” sports complex located in the center of Ashgabat, beautifies our capital with its architectural features. The monument to the Indian advocate of independence, thinker, peace lover was opened in July 2015 during the official visit of the Prime-Minister of India Narendra Modi to Turkmenistan. The monument of Mahatma Gandhi in Ashgabat is a vivid proof of that Turkmenistan and India pay great attention to the principles of peace and sustainable development of the world.

Humanitarian cooperation is one of the main vectors of Turkmen-Indian relations. The common history, rich and unique culture of two nations, and very similar traditions serve as a strong basis for developing cooperation in such spheres as science, education, culture, healthcare and sports.

On December 11, 2002, within the framework of “Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of India on the establishment of a Turk.men-Indian Training and Production Center in Ashgabat”, the machinery of the international machinery tools manufacturer State HMT(I) Limited Company of India was installed at the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute.

On April 8, 2015, the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of India on the Improvement and Modernization of the Turkmen-Indian Training and Production Center in Ashgabat” was signed. Within the framework of this Memorandum, the Turkmen-Indian Training and Production Center of the Turk.men State Architecture and Construction Institute has put into production new machines and equipment for processing black and non-ferrous metals of various kinds. Also, instructors of the Institute were trained in the Republic of lndia, and Indian experts visited the Institute

and provided training on the peculiarities of using these machines. Currently, this machinery is being used in special vocational courses to carry out training and project work for the students of the Institute.

The centuries-old Turkmen-Indian relations, based on firm equality, mutual understanding, and trust, are being effectively developed today. The Turkmen­ Indian Training and Production Center, established at the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, is not just one more educational project, but a vivid symbol of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and India.
