EAM Dr. S. Jaishankar, EU Commissioner, Talks about Synergising Global Gateway with Development Projects

Dr.S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister (EAM) of India, met with the European Union (EU) Commissioner for International Partnerships on Sunday to discuss how to integrate Global Gateway with India’s development cooperation programs. It was an excellent meeting with EU Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen. They discussed the G20 meeting. They also continued their discussion about integrating Global Gateway with the development partnership initiatives of India, as Dr. S. Jaishankar tweeted.

EAM Jaishankar met with Svenja Schulze, the German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, earlier in the day. He acknowledged his delight at kicking off the G20 Development Ministers’ Conference with her.

Jaishankar and Shulze discussed India and Germany’s shared interests, which this meeting hopes to advance. They also talked about the Sustainable Development Summit and third-country collaborations.

The EAM tweeted that it gave him great pleasure to kick off the G20 Development Ministers meeting with German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Svenja Schulze. They talked about their shared priorities for the #G20DMM and are seeking to take it forward. They also discussed the Sustainable Development Summit and third-country partnerships.

Jaishankar spoke at the Gandhi Adhyayan Peeth Sabhaagaar on Sunday about Indian foreign policy objectives and features. Jaishankar stated that he had come at this time to commemorate the Modi government’s nine-year tenure. He explained that the G20 summit is being held in around 60 cities. The meeting recently attended by Dr. S. Jaishankar, the EU commissioner, and other delegates was the meeting of the development ministers.

When discussing India’s rescue efforts, the EAM stated that the Indians who were stranded in Ukraine had returned. Operation Kaveri also brought back residents from Sudan. Ninety flights brought countrymen from Ukraine.

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also met separately with his Australian Minister for Defence Industry, Pat Conroy, on Sunday, concentrating on bilateral relations and collaboration under the G20 framework.

In another tweet, Jaishankar said he was delighted to welcome Australian Development Minister @PatConroy1 to Varanasi for the #G20DMM. Naturally, they discussed Prime Minister @narendramodi’s recent visit to Australia. They also discussed the ways their two countries might work together on Pacific development challenges.

The foreign minister also met with Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Jaishankar tweeted that he had an excellent discussion with UNCTAD Secretary-General @RGrynspan on the margins of the #G20DMM. It is agreed that the G20 plays an essential role in addressing the concerns of the global south. They will also collaborate closely to ensure that SDG goals are met.
