US President Donald Trump signed the historic bill on Humanitarian Aid for better facilities at the holding centres to the illegal immigrants
In a positive move towards helping the federal government for better administration, Donald Trump signed a $4.6 billion aid package on Monday.
This package is set to help cope, with the inflow of Central American immigrants at the U.S-Mexico border.
The bill was signed at the Oval Office. President Trump was accompanied by Vice President Mike Pence and Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar.
Trump stated “This is a humane solution to a tremendous problem that starts because of our bad immigration laws.”
The Lawmakers of the Democratic Party had, expected a much higher amount of aid from the Trump Administration.
The conditions at the overcrowded holding facilities are, often harsh in nature.
The bill sets up guidelines for the Trump administration, in regard to handling of these migrants.
It shall also help in bolstering care, for tens of thousands, who arrive into the custody on a monthly basis.
The aid is set to provide stronger protections and facilities for migrants in the holding facilities.
The country of US receives, the most immigrants seeking asylum from the Central American nations. The biggest flow of these immigrants is, from the countries of Honduras and El Salvador.
The bill comes as a result of the warning issued by the White House, to veto a House bill on grounds of constraining, the border security efforts.
The pressure created led to Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi being forced to accept this Republican version of aid package. The move which has led to added frustration of the more liberal members of her committee.
Trump expressed satisfaction on the passage of the bill. Yet he stated that he was dissatisfied with the state of illegal immigration in the country.
He also stated that the endeavours for deporting people and families living illegally will continue.
Dismissing the call of immigrant asylum seekers he called them as “frivolous asylum claims.”
Further adding “That’s what they do to gain access into the country, they lodge claims of asylum, and they’re totally bogus claims.”
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement leaders have put forward serious concerns in regard to officer’s safety due to publicizing the details of the raids.
Donald had delayed the raids about a week ago, after Pelosi asked him to call them off.
“After July 4th, a lot of people are going to be brought back out,” Trump threatened. “ICE is going to be apprehending them and bringing them back.”
