Mr. Joe Biden is now the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee for the election
Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont ended his bid for presidential candidacy on April 8. He was running for Democratic Presidential nomination. Mr. Joe Biden is now the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee for the election.
Mr Sanders won democratic primaries in New Hampshire and Nevada, but his campaign suffered loss in crucial states of Michigan and Florida. He said he would remain on the ballot in remaining states that still have primaries to try to gather delegates. His campaign called for ‘Medicare for All’ and tuition free four year public colleges.
Mr Sanders tweeted, “Today I am suspending my campaign. But while the campaign ends, the struggle for justice continues on.”.
The US Presidential election is scheduled for Nov 2020.
