His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, today welcomed His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, who is undertaking a working visit to the country. The discussions, held in Abu Dhabi, centred on ways to further strengthen the strategic relationship between the two nations. Both leaders explored opportunities to enhance cooperation in areas including the economy, development, investment, and renewable energy. The talks were conducted within the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership that underpins ties between the UAE and Indonesia.
Sheikh Mohamed and President Subianto underlined their shared commitment to advancing mutual interests and supporting development priorities that benefit their citizens. They noted the importance of collaborative efforts in driving progress across multiple sectors, with particular emphasis on sustainable growth and innovation. The two leaders also exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues. In this context, they addressed the recent Israeli attack on the State of Qatar. Both sides strongly condemned the incident and expressed their solidarity with Qatar, stressing that such actions pose a threat to regional security, stability, and the wider prospects for peace.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, in addition to several ministers and senior officials. President Subianto had earlier arrived in Abu Dhabi on his working visit and was received at the Presidential Airport by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
