Thailand Tourism Festival 2026

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) held the 44th edition of the Thailand Tourism Festival (TTF) from 25 to 29 March 2026, bringing together the best of all five regions into one immersive experience in the heart of Bangkok at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. TTF is Thailand’s principal domestic tourism showcase, organised annually by TAT. The festival is designed to encourage Thai residents to explore destinations within their own country while also supporting local communities and regional tourism operators.

This year’s festival was anchored by the concept “Suk Thanthee…Thi Tiew Thai” — loosely translated as “instant happiness, travelling in Thailand” — expressed through the “5 Must Do in Thailand” framework. Must Taste highlights regional flavours, Must Try invites hands-on cultural experiences, Must Buy showcases locally made products, Must Seek draws attention to hidden-gem destinations, and Must See presents signature performances and cultural spectacles.

TAT Governor Ms Thapanee Kiatphaibool said: “TTF 2026 brings together the essence of Thai travel in one national showcase. Through the 5 Must Do in Thailand concept, we highlight the flavours, crafts, traditions and hidden destinations that define each region. This year’s festival honours Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, and reflects her enduring contribution to Thai cultural heritage and community livelihoods, while our Zero Waste to Landfills approach reinforces that tourism growth must go hand in hand with sustainability.”

Royal Tribute

A central feature of this year’s event honoured Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, whose legacy is woven into the Kingdom’s cultural and natural landscape. Curated exhibitions and installations reflected her lifelong dedication to Thai textiles, local handicrafts and community development, while also encouraging visitors to explore tourism routes inspired by her royal initiatives.

Nine Zones and Sustainability

The festival was divided into nine immersive zones. TAT Deputy Governor for the Domestic Market, Mr Apichai Chatchalermkit, said:

“TTF 2026’s nine zones are designed to turn discovery into real travel inspiration, with each area presenting a distinct perspective on Thailand’s destinations, identities and tourism experiences.”

These included an Eastern Village, a Northeastern (Isan) Village centred on the Ubon Ratchathani Candle Festival, a Southern Village with marine-themed installations, a Northern Village drawing on contemporary Lanna design, an Amazing Thailand Zone featuring digital and AI experiences, a Road to Sustainability zone, a Tourism Partners zone, and a Main Stage hosting concerts and cultural performances.

The five-day festival embraced the Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) Model, promoting environmentally friendly tourism that leverages local identities to generate value and support communities. For the fourth consecutive year, TTF implemented a strict zero waste to landfills policy, with a KPI to reduce event waste sent to landfills to less than 10 per cent. Strengthened measures included vendor cooperation on waste separation, 14 bilingual sorting stations, and on-site staff to guide visitors on proper disposal practices.

TTF 2026 has positioned itself as a catalyst for boosting domestic tourism too. It brings together discounts from over 30 partner organisations alongside specially designed travel packages aimed at promoting travel across different regions.
