The World Health Organization has raised a global warning against the fatal outbreak of Coronavirus from becoming a pandemic.

As of now, the new cases of Coronavirus have been reported in at least 16 countries globally with over 8000 infected cases and 170 people dead. As Wuhan in the Hubei province faces isolation from mainland China, countries rush in to evacuate their citizens confined in the affected island.

China has entirely closed off the city of Wuhan, considered to be the epicentre of the 2019-nCOV breakout, with over 11 million residents trapped within their homes. The disease has spread across all the cities of China as Russia and Hong Kong close off their borders with Beijing.

The WHO has called for an urgent meeting to declare measures to rein in the disease from spreading and to somehow break its transmission chain. The deadliness of the virus is yet to be fully understood as scientists hurry to develop vaccines to control the outbreak in time.

India has registered its first confirmed case of Coronavirus in Kerala. There have been cases of patients under observation in Delhi and quarantined in Maharashtra.
