Protest breaks out in Iran over the plane crash

Amidst escalating tensions with the US, Iranians continue protests demanding justices for the lives lost in the plane crash and questioning its incompetent leadership.

Iran is witnessing a fresh wave of protests across the country as the people demand accountability from the government on its recent decisions in the matters of foreign affairs. Iran has been facing economic exhaustion with the US imposing heavy sanctions in the last few years.

In its continuous attempt to become the key player in the Middle East, Iran has been alleged of using proxies to exert political influence in countries like Lebanon and Iraq. But, the US-Iran tensions have worsened the conditions in Iran with the people protesting against an incompetent administration that has failed them utterly.

The political climate in Iran has changed after it “accidentally” shot down a Ukrainian jet minutes after it took off from the Tehran airport. The Boeing jet had mostly Iranians and Canadians on board as the Iran officials called it an ‘unintended terrible tragedy’. The plane crash had no survivors as all 176 people on board died. The loud protests across the nation have raised slogans of dissent demanding resignations while some even calling the state as the ‘enemy and the oppressor’.

Iran’s government has heavily deployed the forces to curb the protests from turning into violence. There has been uproar of protests by the public who want justice for the plane crash victims.
