Tulsi Gabbard: I announce my candidacy for President of the United States of America

The U.S House of Representative member, Tulsi Gabbard is the latest entrant in the race for 2020 United States Presidential Election, after officially announcing her candidature during a rally in Oahu

Tulsi Gabbard, serving member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Hawaii’s 2nd district, officially launched her campaign for the 2020 U.S Presidential Election on February 2, 2019.

With this Gabbard officially enters the ongoing race for Democratic Party’s presidential nomination with Sens. Cory Booker, New Jersey; Elizabeth Warren, Massachusetts; Kirsten Gillibrand, New York and Kamala Harris, California. All of them have already presented their candidature for the contest.

The first Samoan-American member and the first practicing Hindu of the United States Congress, the 37-year old politician became the youngest women to be elected to a US State legislature at the age of 21. If elected for the White House, she will not only be the first women to enter the office but will also be the youngest president in history of United States of America. In 1901, President Theodore Roosevelt took the office at the age of 42.

Addressing a rally in Oahu, Gabbard, who is also a serving Major in US Army’s Hawaii Army National Guard unit, said, “When we raise our right hand and volunteer to serve, we set aside our own interests to serve our country, to fight for all Americans. We serve as one, indivisible, united, unbreakable, and united by this bond of love for each other and love for our country.”

“It is in this spirit that today I announce my candidacy for president of the United States of America,” she further added.

Scheduled for November 2020, it is going to be the 59th quadrennial presidential election in the United States of America. President Donald Trump, elected for the top post in 2016 defeating former Secretary of State and Democratic Party’s nominee Hiliary Clinton, is also seeking a re-election for the Republican Party.
