To demand the reinstatement of CBI director Alok Verma, Congress President Rahul Gandhi led a march today to the CBI headquarters in New Delhi. He was joined by top leaders from the Congress. Rahul Gandhi heaped blame upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi and called him a ‘chor’.

Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court directed the Central  Vigilance Commission to look into the inquiry against Verma and Rakesh Asthana, his deputy. The SC stipulated a time of two weeks to the government body  to complete the investigation against the corruption allegations against them.

The Court will now hear Rakesh Asthana’s plea on October 29.
