India and Israel complete 28 years of diplomatic ties

On the 28th anniversary of India and Israel officially establishing their diplomatic ties, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu exchanged pleasantries with his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi.

PM Modi congratulated Israel on continuing its 28 years of the strong relationship and warm friendship with India, on Twitter in Hebrew.

Under the Modi government, India has renewed warm ties with Israel. Both the countries have collaborated on many projects of science and technology and increased investments in recent years.

Tel Aviv sees New Delhi as its close friend in South Asia after the recent change in the diplomatic stance of India’s Middle East foreign policy. India and Israel have common interests and values and the Jewish community in India also shares a profound history in its traditions and customs.

India has also urged both Israel and Palestine to resolve their issues and accept the two-state solution proposed in the US President Trump’s Middle East peace plan. India has opined both the states to move ahead through dialogues and negotiations. India has always reassured the Palestinian cause in the international forums and looks forward to the peaceful coexistence of both the states.
