COVID-19 in India: Two Confirmed Cases Detected In Delhi and Telangana

The Health Ministry has confirmed one positive case of COVID-19 in New Delhi and another detection of the coronavirus in Telangana on March 2. Both the cases have an international travel history. The person from Delhi has a travel history from Italy and the Telangana case has a travel history from Dubai.

The two cases are currently stable and are being monitored closely. The Delhi case is being diagnosed at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has said that 23 more people are under testing for the virus.

India had previously seen its first potential detection of the virus which came from Thrissur, Kerala. A female medical student from Wuhan, China was admitted at the Government Medical College hospital in Thrissur but was discharged on February 20. Two more cases were reported from Kerala, making a total of three cases which were later discharged as well.

As of March 2, 2020, the global death toll due to COVID-19, commonly known as coronavirus, has passed 3000 and approximately 88,000 plus cases have been confirmed.
