The upcoming G20 summit will be hosted by Argentina on November 30, 2018. This year’s summit is accompanied by investors’ hopes around ceasefire of the trade war between China and US.

Although the summit is likely to evoke some important discourses, the undercurrent seems a bit tense. The APEC summit at Papua New Guinea was inundated by an ongoing trade conflict between the two super economies, United States and China. Investors and market experts seem optimistic and suggest that deliberations between the two nations at the G20 summit are likely to enhance the current market situation.

Ongoing trade dispute between China and the US, however, is not the only concern. The Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman is likely to attend the event post the accusation of being involved in the Jamal Khashoggi murder case.

Established in 1999, the first G20 summit took place amid global financial crisis in 2008. The summit is attended by nineteen nations from around the world and the European Union. Each year, world leaders come together to discuss global policies that influence global structures. Work streams such as agriculture, corruption, digital economy, education, trade, investment, health and employment are some of the global concerns covered at the summit.

Post the Special Brexit summit on Sunday, there are likely to be some additional concerns and deliberations given the current European scenario.
