On Wednesday, Prince Charles visited Gurudwara Bangla Sahib in Delhi. Importantly, he is on a two-day trip to India.
Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) gave him a warm welcome. Importantly, the committee honoured him and bestowed a ‘Siropa’ (a robe) on him. Moreover, he interacted with the Sikh community and paid obeisance at the Gurudwara.
Interestingly, he visited India a day after the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. Guru parv was celebrated with much joy and fervour throughout the country and in different parts of the world as well.
Prince Charles’ is on his 10th official visit to India. Besides, he will meet President Ram Nath Kovind in the national capital. Earlier, he went Mausam Bhawan to visit India’s Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.
During his visit to IMD, he interacted with the IMD officials. Furthermore, he was seen enjoying a ride in a battery-operated rickshaw there.
Prince Charles will also attend an event in the Capital. As a matter of fact, he will also present a Commonwealth ‘Points of Light’ award to an Indian winner.
Significantly, she has contributed in the field of social development that involves upliftment of disabled children, family counselling and therapy sessions, a British High Commission statement said.
Prince Charles will then attend military service. Importantly, the service commemorates the sacrifices of soldiers from India, the UK and across the Commonwealth in World War-I and World War-II.
Besides, he is also planning to attend a discussion with influential Indian business leaders to seek their advice and input on sustainable markets.
British High Commissioner to India Dominic Asquith said, “I am delighted to welcome His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to India once again on his 10th official visit.”
