Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to Japan’s holiday home on Sunday. Japanese PM Shinzo Abe accorded the Indian PM a warm welcome into his holiday home that overlooks the legendary Mount Fuji and called Modi one of his most “dependable and valuable friends”. Recalling the history of India-Japan relations, Abe said he was “devoted to nurturing this friendship with India.” Following a round of informal talks, the two Prime Ministers headed to a factory of industrial robot manufacturer Fanuc.

Following dinner, Modi and Abe left for Tokyo, where the two leaders will hold a summit focusing on the key areas of bilateral ties and economic cooperation between the two countries. Issues concerning defence and regional security as well as the situation in the Indo-Pacific region will also be discussed.
