New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu today inaugurated iCreate – International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Encouraging the youngsters to innovate, the PM said that the Government was working to make the country’s system innovation-friendly. He said, “Intent leads to ideas, ideas have the power to drive innovation and innovation ultimately will lead to the creation of a New India.”

Expressing his satisfaction over the presence of Benjamin Netanyahu in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that innovation brings the people of two countries together.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about fueling the curiosity of children. He also emphasized on innovation that is need-based.

“We are working towards making entire system in our country innovation-friendly, so that- ideas are formed from intent, innovations are formed from ideas & New India is formed from innovations,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.

Speaking earlier, the Israeli prime minister said, “I am delighted to be here. The world knows about iPads and iPods, there is on more i that the world needs to know about, that is iCreate.”

Netanyahu concluded his speech by saying “Jai Hind! Jai Bharat! Jai Israel”.

Both the Prime Ministers will also e-inaugurate the Centre for Excellence – Date Palm, through a video link in Kukama.

Later, the leaders will witness the signing of an Memorandum of understanding (MoU) between COE Vadrad and Farmer’s Producer Organization for the establishment of hi-tech vegetable seedling production unit.

The iCreate Center has been created with the objective of facilitating entrepreneurship through creativity, innovation, engineering, product design and leveraging emerging technologies to deal with major issues such as food security, water, connectivity, cyber security, IT and electronics, non-conventional energy, bio-medical equipment and devices.

The Centre provides counseling to lay a firm foundation of business skills, intellectual support to encourage innovative and independent thinking, training to hone individual’s skills and thinking, environment where ideas can grow and flourish through mentoring and networking to take ideas further through access to markets, money or mentors.
