 The Chinese President, Xi Jinping left for state visits to Panama, Portugal and Spain on Tuesday. The President is also scheduled to arrive at the G20 summit in Argentina on Friday

China’s President, Xi Jinping left for a series of international visits on Tuesday. He was accompanied by his wife Peng Liyuan, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and members of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, He Lifeng would also be accompanying the President on the visits.

The visits are scheduled from the last week of November till early December. Jinping has been summoned by the Spanish King Felipe VI and Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa for state visits in their countries. He has also been invited by the President of Argentina, Mauricio Macri for the thirteenth Group of Twenty (G20) summit being held in the country on November 30. According to scholars, United States and China’s meeting at the G20 summit would lead to positive outcomes that can help aid the current market situation.

Jinping will also be meeting the President of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela. The state visit is being perceived as an attempt to establish ties with USA’s Central American ally.
