The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, held talks extending to two hours with American Evangelical Christians as well as Israel supporters at his palace. This is a rare initiative that aims to rebuild the image of the Saudi Arabia as a kingdom more tolerant to religion.

The delegation was led by communications strategist Joel Rosenberg, former US congresswoman Michelle Bachmann. The delegation that also included heads of Evangelical organisations, met Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir, Saudi Ambassador to Washington Prince Khalid bin Salman and Secretary General of the Muslim World League Mohammed al-Issa.

The visit made by non-Muslim leaders to Saudi Arabia is being touted as an exceptional act of religious openness on the part of Saudi Arabia, given that the desert country bans the practice of all religions except Islam. Saudi Arabia is home to some of the holiest sites in Islam.
